“Brilliant, quick and easy. NeedleBay is the best!” — Les Cobbett, 82

NeedleBay is a pocket case for the four pen needles a weekly pen uses in a month, and it shows at a glance whether this week’s jab is done. It is a case for spare and used needles, not for the pen, and it contains no medicine.

How NeedleBay works with a KwikPen

The KwikPen comes without needles and takes a standard screw-on pen needle. NeedleBay holds four of them. Fresh needles wait in their bays with the seals on; you peel the seal, screw the pen straight onto the needle, inject, and screw the pen back into the same bay so the used needle locks inside. It stays there until you reach a sharps bin, so nothing is loose in a bag or a drawer.

One look at the clear lids shows whether this week’s jab has been done, which helps prevent a missed week and a double week. No app, no battery, nothing to charge.

One case, one pen, one month

A weekly pen holds four doses. NeedleBay has four bays. Load it when you start a new pen and it lasts exactly as long as the pen does. When the pen is finished, open the lids over your sharps bin, press the release, and the four used needles drop out without being touched.

Which pens?

Any pen that takes a screw-on pen needle, including the KwikPen, other GLP-1 and weight-loss pens, and insulin pens. Pen needles made to ISO 11608-2 fit, which covers the brands UK pharmacies supply. See needles for the KwikPen and which GLP-1 pens work with NeedleBay.

Which pack?

One NeedleBay for one weekly pen. If you take insulin as well, the twin pack gives you a case for each pen. The triple pack is for a few days away.

NeedleBay holds used needles only until you reach a sharps bin; it is not a sharps bin and does not replace one. Made in the UK. £2.95 UK delivery, 30-day returns.

Where does the used needle go?

Guidance asks you to take the needle off straight after the injection and leave the cover off. In NeedleBay it screws back into its own bay and locks there until it drops into a sharps bin. NeedleBay is not a sharps bin and does not replace one.
