Watch how NeedleBay works

This film shows the previous NeedleBay.
Today's NeedleBay is smaller and more compact, with all the same functions, and even easier to use at home, take to work, on holiday, to school or a hospital.

The current NeedleBay case, smaller and more compact than the version shown in the film

How to use NeedleBay, step by step

  1. Open the lids and flip down the pen needle click-lock.
  2. Pop in your pen needles and close the click-lock so your needles are held securely in your NeedleBay.
  3. When you are ready to take your insulin, flip open the lid with the fresh pen needle and peel off the seal.
  4. Screw your insulin pen onto the needle and lift it out. Your pen is ready to use.
  5. After your injection, screw the pen back into the same bay, then unscrew and lift the pen away, leaving the used needle safely inside your NeedleBay.
  6. The clear lids show which insulin doses have been taken and which are ready to take.
  7. When you are ready to dispose of the needles, open the lids and release the click-lock. The used pen needles drop safely into your sharps bin.

What the clear lids tell you

A used needle has no seal and sits back in its bay, so one look, or a thumb across the lids, shows which insulin doses have been taken and which are ready to take. It helps prevent a missed dose and a double dose, with no app, no battery and nothing to charge.

"I’ve lived with Type 1 diabetes for over 40 years and appreciate simple products that don’t rely on batteries or mobile phones. NeedleBay is easy to use, easy to see and has become part of my daily routine."
A NeedleBay customer

NeedleBay fits in the palm of your hand and is made in the UK for everyday use. Loading and releasing needles is simple, including for people with stiff or shaky hands.
